- Hiring, Supporting, and Evaluating the CEO/Executive Director:
- Recruit, hire, and evaluate the performance of the CEO/Executive Director.
- Provide support and guidance to the CEO/Executive Director.
- Succession planning for executive leadership positions.
- Financial Stewardship:
- Ensure the organization’s financial stability.
- Approve budgets, financial reports, and major expenditures.
- Establish and monitor financial controls and accountability policies.
- Fundraising and Resource Development:
- Contribute to fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation and grant applications.
- Provide financial support and leverage personal and professional networks to secure resources for the organization.
- Advocacy and Public Relations:
- Advocate for the organization’s mission and goals.
- Act as ambassadors for the organization in the community.
- Build relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the public.
- Board Development and Training:
- Recruit new board members with diverse skills and backgrounds.
- Provide orientation and ongoing training for board members.
- Foster a positive board culture and effective teamwork.
- Legal and Ethical Integrity:
- Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose potential conflicts.
- Uphold the organization’s values and ethical guidelines.
- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Monitor the organization’s performance against established goals.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.
- Strategic Planning:
- Participate in the development and review of the organization’s strategic plan.
- Monitor progress toward strategic goals and make necessary adjustments.
- Innovation and Adaptability:
- Encourage innovation and adaptability to changing circumstances and needs.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in the organization’s field.
