The Mt. Shasta Rotary Foundation continues its commitment to regional senior nutrition programs with a recent donation of $2,000 to support the popular program administered in south Siskiyou County by Great Northern Services (GNS). “The goal of the Senior Nutrition Program is to reduce hunger and food insecurity while promoting the health and well-being of older individuals in an effort to delay adverse health conditions,” says Marie-Josée Wells, Executive Director of GNS. “Our program makes it a priority to bring food to frail, homebound, or isolated older adults.” Home delivered meals are also available to seniors residing within the four South County communities of Mt. Shasta, Weed, Dunsmuir, and McCloud.
The Rotary “wheel” keeps local communities connected and supported at home and around the world.
