Thanks to USDA Rural Development and the Siskiyou County EDC, GNS now has a refrigerator freezer to accommodate the return of fresh and frozen foods to our county wide USDA commodities distributions. 
USDA Area Specialist, Kevin Demers (L) checks out the installation of the equipment formally used in the EDC’s commercial kitchen in Yreka. GNS Executive Director, Bonnie Kubowitz (C) and Renee Casterline, Community Food Program manager (R) celebrate delivery of nearly 8,000 pounds of frozen chicken as a protein source for early summer distribution.
