In a program made possible by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the City of Mt. Shasta is offering assistance to qualified residents to meet their rental security deposits. “We designed the program to improve opportunities for safe, affordable housing,” says Crystal Aston, program manager at Great Northern Services.
The program includes the following criteria: The unit to be occupied is located within the city limits, the household applying for assistance is low to moderate income level, the applicant must enter into a minimum one year lease and should they decide to terminate their lease early, they agree to repay the funds in full to the City.
The program will operate on a first come, first served basis as long as funding is available.
You can fill it out online and then print the application here, or you can print one to fill out off line here Applications are also available at Mt. Shasta City Hall, Great Northern’s offices in Weed or the Mt. Shasta Community Resource Center.
This program is an equal housing opportunity.
