Great Northern Corporation (GNC) announces that in an effort to offer better and more personal service to Energy Assistance applicants, the process for applying for Energy Assistance in 2014 has some changes. “Our goal is to reduce the number of incomplete applications,” said Brandy Caporaso, Program Manager.
To apply for assistance, please call 938-4115 ext 110 and clearly leave your name, mailing address and phone number on the answering machine. If you have a shut-off notice from Pacific Power or are out of heating fuel, please indicate that in your message.
Next, the applicant will receive a postcard from GNC in the mail acknowledging receipt of contact information. A GNC staff member then calls the applicant to begin the application process over the telephone and answer any questions. Next, the entire application packet with instructions will be sent out for you to complete, sign and mail back to GNC.
At the beginning of the calendar year, the requests for applications are extremely high, and GNC is not able to immediately respond in person to each call. This is due in part to the large number of incomplete applications received which require client contact and the time it takes to process each application for assistance. You may not receive a call back for several weeks, so please be patient as GNC staff will be calling applicants in the order in which their contact information has been received. GNC suggests that if you do not have an emergency situation, that you apply later in the year.
